The much awaited part of the Islamic calendar, the holy month of Ramazan, is all set to begin from tomorrow (in some parts of the world, its beginning today as well). This is the time when Muslims across the globe observe fasts (swam), that is abstaining from food, drink or any sorts of marital relations from dawn to dusk. The fasts start before dawn, with a breakfast called sehri and are broken at dusk with a meal called iftari.

The fasting is meant to teach a person patience, humility and sacrifice, to set aside time to ask forgiveness, practice self-restraint, and pray for guidance in the future.
